1. Introduction and Purpose
At ClausePilot, we are committed to upholding integrity, trust, and high ethical standards. This Acceptable and Ethical Use Policy ("Policy") establishes the binding principles that govern the use of the ClausePilot AI platform and all associated services ("Services").
This Policy supplements the "Usage Restrictions" outlined in our main Terms and Conditions. Its purpose is to go beyond technical limitations and define the ethical standards required of all users to ensure our technology is used responsibly and in a manner that honors the duties owed to clients, courts, and the public.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to all individuals and entities ("Users") who access or use the ClausePilot platform, as defined in our Terms and Conditions. Adherence to this Policy is a condition of continued use of the Services.
3. Core Principles of Ethical Use
The legal professional users of ClausePilot are expected to adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct. The use of our Services must be guided by principles of honesty, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law and the ethical duties of the legal profession.
4. Prohibited Uses
4.1 Prohibition on Knowingly Misleading Content Users are strictly prohibited from using the Services to knowingly generate, draft, or disseminate any information, legal argument, or documentation that is false, misleading, or factually inaccurate with the intent to deceive a court, an opposing party, a client, or any other third party. This includes the creation of fictitious legal citations or the misrepresentation of facts.
4.2 Prohibition on Unauthorized Practice of Law The Services are designed exclusively for use by qualified legal professionals and other users for their own internal document processing purposes, as defined in our Terms and Conditions. Users are forbidden from using the platform to provide legal services or advice if they are not authorized to do so in the relevant jurisdiction. The platform may not be used to facilitate, enable, or otherwise support the unauthorized practice of law by any individual or entity.

5. The User's Non-Delegable Professional Responsibility
ClausePilot is a supportive tool designed to augment, not replace, the skill and expertise of a legal professional.
As affirmed in our Terms and Conditions and AI Transparency Policy, Users retain a non-delegable duty to exercise their own independent professional judgment in all matters. The User is solely and entirely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating the accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of any AI-generated output before its use.
6. Enforcement
Any violation of this Acceptable and Ethical Use Policy constitutes a material breach of our Terms and Conditions and may result in the immediate suspension or termination of the User's account and access to the Services. We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation. To report a potential violation of this Policy, please contact us at privacy@clausepilot.com.
